Would you please provide my readers with a brief overview of your background (e.g. when did you first start to study NLP, what level of training have you achieved).
I have a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto and worked in the Playfair Neuroscience unit researching the role of oxyradicals on age-related neurodegenerative diseases. When I began practicing as a psychotherapist, NLP took on a large role in my methodology. I trained with Hugh Comerford in Toronto, and completed my masters with John Sweetnam and Roger Ellerton in Ottawa.
What is your current business practice and what role does NLP play?
As a psychotherapist and NLP practitioner who deals with a wide variety of issues, from chronic depression, to Turette's Syndrome, to personal productivity, I use NLP in almost every session. It very effectively enhances the effect of the Gestalt, CBT and expressive arts therapy work I do with my private and corporate clients. I find the Gestalt, CBT and Neuroscience background broaden my palette of resources for understanding ones emotions and effecting change, giving me a unique edge as an NLP practitioner.
Would you please provide a brief summary of your presentation at the CANLP conference and indicate the key points that someone in your audience can expect to learn?
The title is "What is the Neuro in Neuro Linguistic Programming, anyway".
We know that the N in NLP stands for Neuro, but when the technique was developed in the 70's very little of the information scientists know about neuroscience today was available. We will learn how NLP is connected to Neuroscience, and how, from a brain-based level, we may be effecting change when we use its techniques. In today's emerging 'neuroscociety', understanding the world and our actions from the basis of the brain becomes not only topical, but critical.

Presentation title: Somatic User Interface
Would you please provide a brief overview of your background (e.g. when did you first start to study NLP, what level of training have you achieved).
I started taking NLP courses in the late 70s and was an NLP trainer by the early 80s. I have trained with most of the original NLPers; been on the board of IALP, NAANLP; served an the Canadian representative to these bodies; and worked actively on CANLP since the late 80s. I've presented at NLP conferences in both Canada and the USA.
What is your current business practice and what role does NLP play?
I established Metamorph Us in 1987. We give NLP practitioner and Master trainings and use NLP in coaching and consulting with a current emphasis on Stop Smoking with NLP and hypnosis. Recent client was NRC (National Research Council). We are one of the few NLP Institutes using NLP and Noology.
Please tell us about any NLP articles or books that you have written.
I have created an original pattern called 'Kairos'. It's a way to take the clutter out of making decisions and is availiable as a DVD with handouts in eight languages.
Another original product is a illustrated chart to help parents, care givers and child care workers use somatic movement to help babies reach a state to achieve success, and more easily deal with the unexpected.
Two articles have been published in Suppose, the CANLP magazine. Back issues can be accessed at their web site www.canlp.ca Other articles have appeared in an assortment of publications most of which can be seen at www.metamorphus.com/artcls.
Would you please provide a brief summary of your presentation at the CANLP conference and indicate the key points that someone in your audience can expect to learn?
This newly created NLP pattern explores the effects of shifting perceptual awareness on a problem even as it helps us understand how & where problems inhabit our own personal space.
Learning objectives include:
* utilizing up to 14 spatial positions for change
* understanding of a new new tool for change that is successful with individuals and groups

Would you please provide us with a brief overview of your background (e.g. when did you first start to study NLP, what level of training have you achieved).
I started studying NLP in 1983 in Paris where I was working as a communication trainer. I continued learning and teaching NLP until I returned to Canada in 1989. I was the founding president of the Canadian Association of NLP in its current format and continue to support the organization in many ways.
What is your current business practice and what role does NLP play?
I am in the behaviour change business; helping people acquire the reflexes they need in high stakes situations. I use applied NLP and the contents of my book Words That Change Minds to help people become masterful persuaders: marketing, negotiating, sales, and high performing teams. I also certify people around the world to become Words That Change Minds trainers and consultants. My company Success Strategies / Stratégies de réussite provides behaviour change programs, training and keynote speaking around North America and Europe in English, French and Spanish.

I would love to see many people attend our conference. This is THE gathering in Canada for people who love NLP and want to make a difference in the world.

Would you please provide my readers with a brief overview of your background (e.g. when did you first start to study NLP, what level of training have you achieved).
Je suis maître praticienne en PNL. J'étudie présentement en coaching PNL. J'ai fait ma formation dans 2 écoles. J'ai d'abord fait ma formation de base et de praticienne au CQPNL de Montréal. Puis j'ai fait ma formation de Maître Praticienne et Post Maître Coah PNL chez ID Com international auprès d'Isabelle David et son équipe. Je tenais à entreprendre l'étape du Maître Praticien et Post Maître au sein d'une équipe qui est à l'affût du développement de la PNL et qui y participe en prenant le temps de se questionner sur ce que devient la PNL au 21e siècle.
What is your current business practice and what role does NLP play?
La PNL m'a amené à perfectionner mon travail auprès des enfants et de leur famille. C'est à l'aide de la magie de la PNL que je peux parler au nom des enfants en décodant les messages qu'ils cachent sous les comportements parfois ennuyeux qu'ils adoptent. Ceci me permet ainsi de guider des familles vers l'harmonie et la conscientisation de chacun des êtres qui constituent le système familial. J'offre donc du coaching dans les familles me permettant d'observer les dynamiques. J'offre aussi des conférences pour les parents.
En plus, je travaille auprès d'intervenants en petite enfance, tant dans les CPE (garderies) que dans les écoles, afin de faciliter leur travail et de mieux comprendre les messages que les enfants leur envoient de façon très subtile et parfois même inconsciente.
La PNL m'amène aussi à soutenir les équipes de CPE et d'écoles dans la conscientisation de ce qui cause les problèmes vécus dans leur équipe de travail. La PNL est donc un outils fort utile afin d'identifier les stratégies des gens faisant partie de cette équipe et ainsi ramener un sentiment d'appartenance au sein du groupe.

Cet atelier se veut un clin d’oeil sur les différentes possibilités qu’offrent la PNL dans l’intervention auprès des enfants. Cet atelier par ses exemples vous inspirera dans votre travail auprès des enfants et vous permettra de découvrir de nouveaux outils à ajouter à votre coffre. C’est un rendez-vous! Le contenu de l’atelier est en français. Cet atelier s’adresse aux gens intéressés à tout ce qui touche les enfants et ce qui les entoure. (intervenants, parents et curieux)
